SCHOOL

To dream of a school represents social concerns, insecurities, or anxieties.  How well you are being perceived by others, or how well you are performing in life.  You may have something happening in your life that you are sensitive about, or that's very important to you.


Academy

To dream of an academy represents being self-conscious about a single passion or serious interest. You are very concerned about one thing that you wish to be very successful with. You may be doing everything you can to be the best at something.

Auditorium

To dream of an auditorium represents an issue in your life that is making itself perfectly clear. A person, or situation is allowing you to notice the truth, or understand the facts with more clarity. A sign that there is something you need to learn or you need to pay more attention.

Alternatively, the auditorium may reflect your own desire to make yourself perfectly clear about an issue.

To dream of books represents ideas, information, insights, or answers. It may also reflect what you tell yourself to do when a specific situation or problem arises. Consider a book's title, subject, color for additional meaning.

To dream of books on a shelf represents ideas, information, or insights that you have yet to use. Answers or knowledge you can go to when needed. Ideas you have yet to discover or that you are beginning to explore.

To dream of an overdue book represents a feeling of responsibility or obligation to give someone else the answers they need. It may also reflect your sense of being late for a school project or work report. Alternatively, it may represent your anxiety about a deadline or need to return something to someone.

Example: A man dreamed of happily looking through a book where he saw someone being killed. In waking life he kept telling himself that if an enemy threatened him once more he could have him beaten up in certain ways. Bookshelf

To dream of a bookshelf on it's own represents your plans for the future.

To dream of books on a shelf represents ideas, information, or insights that you have yet to discover or that you are beginning to explore. It may also reflect ideas, answers, or methods that you are waiting to try.

It may be a sign that you are looking for answers to a problems, studying something new, or that you need to acquire some information or knowledge in a situation before making decisions.

Example: A woman dreamed of her bookshelf becoming warped and separating. In waking life her marriage was coming apart along with all her future plans for the marriage.

Bully

To dream of a bully represents people or situations that you feel are intentionally keeping you down or threatening you for doing what you like. It may also reflect a person or situation that you feel is too difficult to confront.

Not standing up to a bully represents you backing down from a threat or challenge.

If you do stand up to a bully it symbolizes confronting problems, and overcoming fear. You may have finally gotten to the courage to do something.

To dream of being a bully represents arrogance or feelings of being invincible. You may have a fear of losing control. It may also reflect a lack of respect for others.

Example: A young man dreamed of bullies threatening him. In waking life his parents had threatened to call the police on an employer if ever tried to get a job with them.

Cafeteria

To dream of a cafeteria represents issues, interests, or situations where other people are noticing what your doing. Mutual awareness of each other others interests or problems. Group sharing, group experiences, or unavoidable openness (e.g. discussing your love life). Casual and mutual awareness of others feelings about an experience.

Negatively, dreaming about a cafeteria may reflect embarrassment that your personal life being on display to others. A embarrassing moment of public honesty in front of friends or family.

Example: A young woman dreamed of being in a cafeteria with a guy she liked. In waking life she was trying to closer to this guy and all her friends and family knew about it.

Example 2: A girl dreamed of being in a cafeteria and being upset with her friend. In waking life she liked the same guy as the her friend and after talking about it with her started to notice her friend getting meaner. The cafeteria reflected her awareness of her friend noticing that he liked the same guy and their open discussion about their shared fondness for the guy.

Example 3: A man dreamed of seeing bankers sitting in a cafeteria. In waking life he was being humiliated by his father in front of his whole family because his father had made an enormous financial promise that he wasn't keeping and that required the dreamer to publicly reveal his personal issues with his father to his whole family.

Example 4: A man dreamed of being in a cafeteria. In waking life he was separated from his wife with everyone he knew being aware of it. The cafeteria may have reflected his feelings about his failing relationship experience being out in the open while noticing that other people relationship experiences weren't.

Calculator

To dream of a calculator represents carefully evaluating an issue or situation.  You may want to make sure of something, consider alternative options, or reexamine beliefs and opinions.  

A calculator may reflect doubts, or new developments that interest you in weighing or reconsidering choices.

Example:  A young man dreamed of being given a calculator by a friend.  In waking life he was planning on asking out girl he thought liked him before finding out that she didn't. The calculator reflected the information he received that made he rethink his plans.

Calculus

To dream of calculus represents a very difficult life situation that is totally unforgiving to any mistakes, or wrong choices.
  A situation where you have to be absolutely perfect the entire time.

Chalkboard


To dream of a chalkboard represents an open or receptive attitude to new ideas, brainstorming, or figuring something out.  You may be considering options, theorizing, experimenting, or trying to come up with creative solutions to problems.

A chalkboard is a sign that you're working towards an answer, or that you're open to a number of possibilities.

To dream of a teacher that asks you to read something off a chalkboard may represent your interest in solving a problem or your sense of intuition that wants to you consider or reconsider options.

To dream of a teacher that asks you write on a chalkboard represents your interest in solving a problem or your sense of intuition that wants to you begin brainstorming or working on solving a problem.

She initially beleived she would do well in university and then was surprised to find that university was much more diffcult then she expected.

Classrooms

To dream of classrooms represents an interest in learning about yourself, personal growth, or finding solutions to problems or questions. You may have a concern about a specific subject or issue.

To dream of sitting in the back of a classroom may represent an issue that concerns you, but that you don't want to draw attention to.

To dream of being closer to the front of a classroom than other people may reflect feelings about having more concern or anxiety about an issue than other people. Feelings that it's more important for you to pay attention or work hard on a problem than it is for others.

The subject of a classroom represents the manner, method, or direction you are thinking. A theme to concerns, issues you care about, or situations that are sensitive. For example, history classes may reflect the reexamining of your past and math classes your attempts to solve a difficult problem. Geography may symbolize experiencing life from different perspectives, and science may represent experimentation with new ideas.

The grade number of elementary school classrooms may use numerology to communicate the manner in which you are thinking. For example grade 5 classrooms may represent changes you are experiencing in life, while grade 2 classrooms may represent issues or situations that you are conflicted about.

To dream of classrooms that you don't recognize represents a new or open-minded approach to problems. You may be trying new things.

Example: A man dreamed of being in a grade 13 classroom where an old friend was sitting closer to the front than he was. In waking life he became extremely rich during an economic crisis than his friend. The classroom may have reflected his feelings about having to be concerned a lot about the economic crisis and the seating positions may have reflected his feelings about comparing his anxiety to his friends anxiety as his friend had to worry about economic crises a lot more than he did.

Class Schedule

To dream of a class schedule represents a plan of action, agenda, or goals as you face anxieties or deal with issues that are important to you.

To dream of losing or forgetting your class schedule represents distractions, unexpected surprises, or giving up on plans.


College

To dream of college represents issues or situations in your life that you are giving serious thought that benefit you and increase your status or power.  It can also represent well-earned relaxation, success, or compensation for hard work.

College in a dream may be a sign that you are very busy or focused on an issue that is allowing you to improve yourself or benefit in some way.  You may want to show off your skills or take a well deserved break.

Friends

Graduation

To dream of being in high school represents anxiety or concerns you have in regards to gaining power, resources, or status. How well you are being perceived by others or how well you are performing in life. You want more responsibility, status, or to feel more capable. You are trying to improve yourself in some manner. Negatively, high school may reflect too much concern with developing power or status.

High school points to insecurities, or anxieties about how powerful or capable you feel as a person.

To dream of not completing or dropping out of high school may reflect feelings about not having done enough to achieve power or status. Feeling that you didn't try hard enough to achieve your goals. Feeling that you surrendered or gave on an accomplishment you cared a lot about. Feeling like a loser for not having tried hard enough at something important to you.

Attending specific classes in a school may represent the manner in which you are thinking.  For example, history classes may reflect the reexamining of your past and math classes your attempts to solve a difficult problem.

If you attended a number of different highschools then each school may reflect a different level of difficulty or stress in your life.

Examples life situations that may encourage school dreams may be nervousness about dating someone, anxiety about work, or caring deeply about how others will react to a project you are working on or plans you have.

Dreaming of certain memorable locations at a school you attended may reflect current emotional states based on those memories. For example if someone hurt your feelings or made you concerned about what they thought in a certain location (hallway, doorway, or back of a room) in a dream it may reflect your concerns about what other people think.

To dream of studying history represents reexamining your past.  You may be trying to gain insight into past events, or change your views about situations that occured.

Example: A young man dreamed of being in an ancient history class in highschool. In waking life he was doing a lot of therapy to process negative events from his past.

Kindergarten

To dream of kindergarten represents mentally or emotionally preparing yourself to deal with problems or situations that you really care about.

"Playing with the idea" of confronting a problem or serious issue. You may be considering confronting a problem or starting a project. You may be experiencing a transitional phase in your life.

Negatively, dreaming about a kindergarten class represents a situation or problem that you fear beginning to confront. Beginning to worry about taking action on a problem you don't even want to think about confronting. Dabbling with preparing for a problem.

Example: A young man dreamed of seeing a kindergarten class. In waking life he had experienced trauma from an illness that made him lose some of his hair. He realized that once school was over he'd have to remove his hat in order to get a job. Something he didn't have to do right now. Be was beginning to consider his problem to be a serious potential embarrassment and was running potential ideas for his life to deal with it to spare himself humiliation.

Laptop

To dream of a laptop computer represents a higher level of interest in how you are thinking. You may be more motivated or excited to explore yourself or improve yourself. Whereas a regular computer reflects a general awareness of what you are thinking, a laptop reflects more enthusiasm in yourself. Awareness of yourself thinking in ways that are modern, making progress, or savvy. Liking organization, making serious plans, or thinking of issues related to success.

What you do or see on a laptop computer symbolizes areas of your life that are the most interesting or motivating for you to think about. You may want to improve yourself, change beliefs, or cut out bad habits. Making plans on how to get ahead in life.

Problems with your laptop computer reflect mistakes, bad choices, outdated beliefs, and faulty logic.

To dream of losing your laptop or having your laptop stolen may reflect fears of having to start over from scratch when you believed you were getting ahead in life. To dream of a library represents a search for answers, knowledge, or ideas. You may be questioning some area of your life, be curious about something, or looking for new ideas.

A person or area of your life with a wealth of knowledge. A store of knowledge you always feel that you can depend on. Feelings about needing to learn a lot about something you are doing in waking life. Feelings about yourself being very studious or a "total geek."

Negatively, a library may reflect feelings about having to learn too much at once or unpleasant feelings about consistent learning.

Dreams of libraries are common to people trying to learn a lot about parenting.

A messy or disorganized library may point to frustration, or total preoccupation with finding the answers you want. You may be having difficulty getting answers or finding solutions.

Example: A woman dreamed of going to a library. In waking life she was going to school to prepare to enter medical school.

Example 2: A man dreamed of a librarian that died and then met a new evil librarian. In waking life he was learning everything he could about being a parent and when the child was born he felt the need to learn how to be a serious parent faster than ever.

Example 3: A single mother dreamed of going to a library to find her missing daughter and then found her daughter outside on a crucifix. In waking life the single mother had her daughter in therapy to learn about her daughter's behavior and then discovered that her daughter had gotten into trouble for acting out at school.

To dream of your own personal locker represents issues, information, or access to something in your life that you don't want to share or make available to others. You may have a secret, or something that is very personal that you want to keep private.

To dream that you can't get your own locker open represents feelings of being unable to be yourself or share something personal. Feeling cut off from yourself. The bright, funny, or real you may feel displaced. You may be feeling social uncomfortable. Practicing self-acceptance may be helpful.

To dream of opening your own personal locker represents your willingness to be open about something or to share something. You have feelings, ideas, or knowledge you are willing to share.

The illegal mathematics in this case may have reflected her feelings about the oppressive restrictions of the Nazi regime making her fear being caught trying to solve or discuss difficult personal problems as it may appear that she wasn't loyal to the government.

Notebooks

To dream of a notebook represents information that you think is important enough to remember.  Things you want to keep track of.  It may also reflect advice, observations, past experiences, memories, or solutions to problems you've already dealt with.  A notebook may also reflect issues you have overlooked.

To dream of losing a notebook may symbolize facts or a situation that have changed.

To dream of reading a notebook represents the questioning of an issue, or a review of information.  You may be reflecting on advice, observations, past experiences, memories, or solutions to problems you've already dealt with.

To dream of losing school notes may symbolize facts or a situation that have changed. Feeling careless. Feeling cut off from something important.

To dream of reading school notes represents the questioning of an issue, or a review of information. You may be reflecting on your experience or what you've already learned in order to solve a problem.

To dream of a P.A. system represents sudden realizations that issues, situations, or problems are more important.

To dream of speaking into a P.A. system represents your attempts to make the importance of information obvious to others.


Pencils

To dream of a pencil represents situations that are temporary, or beliefs that can be changed if needed. It may also reflect issues that you are open to negotiating with. Temporary ideas or feelings about being open to changing your plans. Situations or ideas with a lack of permanence. Intentionally not making an idea, choice, or situation permanent. Ideas or actions that are not serious.

Negatively, a pencil may reflect your anxiety about taking serious action or making serious decisions. Keeping a plan in a state of brainstorming. Pencil Crayons

To dream of pencil crayons represents emotional investment.  Issues you feel responsible for, that are special to you, or a situation in which you have a desired outcome.  It may also symbolizes issues in which you feel obligated, or that you need to know that you did your best.

Pencil crayons could be a sign that you care about someone noticing you, your work, or a contribution you've made.


Pens

To dream of a pen represents situations that are permanent, final choices, or beliefs that you don't want to change.  You may have made your mind up, or aren't open to negotiating.

Blue pens represent positive beliefs, final choices, or situations that you have accepted or aren't willing to compromise.  Red pens represent negative beliefs, final choices, or situations that you have accepted or aren't willing to compromise.

Permanent Markers

To dream of permanent markers represents situations or choices that difficult to change.  A choice or situation may be final once made.

Permission Slip

To dream of a permission slip represents beliefs you have about not being able to do what you want. If someone has to sign it then it means that you're feeling that someone else has the power to stop you from doing what you want. Religious people may dream of a permission slip to reflect their feeling that God may not agree with what they want.

Philosophy

To dream of studying philosophy represents appreciation for intelligent decisions in your past. Being aware of yourself having made good choices that are of benefit to you now. Feeling glad or relieved that you made preparations for something difficult you are now experiencing.

To dream of being in philosophy class at school represent anxiety or pressure you feel about maintaining the integrity of past intelligent decisions. Worrying that you may end up losing something you worked hard to prepare for.

Projects

To dream of a school most often represents social concerns, insecurities, or anxieties. Worrying. Anxiety about how well you are being perceived by others, or how well you are performing in life. There is something happening in your life that you are sensitive about, or that's very important to be to careful about.

Schools symbolize a state of mind when you are caring about what you are thinking. You may have issues at work, or other areas of your life that are weighing heavily on your mind. You are concerned about something.

Positively, schools may reflect your concern with work or long term projects being perfectly accurate. Carefully thinking about what you are thinking. Enjoying learning something difficult. Learning about your problems, your past, or how to improve yourself. A school dream may also appear if you are an expert at something and are very concerned about potential mistakes. Analyzing written work, theories, or ideas.

Negatively, dreams about schools may reflect heightened levels of anxiety or prolonged periods of fear. An unbearable problem that you can't stop worrying about. Worrying or having second thoughts about how other people will react to negative comments you made about them. Second guessing yourself. A worried attempt to come up with excuses or "get your story straight."  Feeling stupid that you aren't perfect.

The level of difficulty of an institution, or the grade you are in may reflect how serious or emotionally taxing an issue is. Where as elementary school may simply reflect caring about an issue, university may reflect a more serious concern that requires your full and constant attention.

Attending specific classes in a school may represent the manner in which you are thinking. For example, history classes may reflect the reexamining of your past and math classes your attempts to solve a difficult unforgiving problem that requires a perfect solution.

To dream of a school hallway represents anxiety or a concern about something that is important to you during a transitional moment. You may be concerned or worried about a change that you are making.

School hallways may also carry personal symbolism for current emotions based on memories you have had at specific spots inside the hallway. To dream of a school bus represents a prolonged learning process that is preparing you for a more difficult situation. Getting prepared to concern yourself with something more serious. Preparing for a difficult or worrisome situation that is approaching.

School Gymnasium

To dream of a school gymnasium represents anxiety or concern about being the best at something. Anxiety or concerns about not achieving an accomplished status. To dream of a school uniform represents your personality always being worried or concerned about something.

To dream of people you want to date in a school uniform may reflect your concern about never embarrass yourself around them.

Example: A young man dreamed of seeing a girl he liked in a school uniform.  In waking life he was very self-conscious whenever he was around her.

You might see a school uniform in a dream when you are going for a job interview or constantly trying to maintain a good impression with someone.

Science

To dream of studying science represents thoughts or situations in your life that are experimental. New ideas, new habits, or new methods of dealing with problems. You are learning from these new experiences, or methods.

Example: A young man dreamed of seeing science equipment in a giant lab and then noticed a scary invisible monster running around the lab. In waking life he was experimenting with different ideas to commit suicide while being afraid of death.

Example 2: A man dreamed of being in a science class at school. In waking life he was having anxiety about living separate from his wife who "just wanted to see what would happen" if they separated . The science symbolism may have reflected his feelings about his relationship confronting an "experimental moment" with his wife trying to see if she would be happier without him.

Scissors

To dream of scissors represents decisiveness, emotional separation from issues, or getting rid of something. You may be making a choice, or cutting something out of your life. It may also reflect some area of your life being severed.

Negatively, scissors in a dream could reflect a fear of being cut off or quickly "severed" from an area of your life. Fearing being fired too easily or broken up with by your partner without any discussion. A decisive action that is not in your best interest. To dream of playing sports at school represents anxieties or personal issues that you are struggling with.  You have concerns or interests that are presenting challenges to you in your life.  You may have anxiety or concerns about being the best that you can.

To dream of a student loan represent feelings about a need to responsibly take action with your problems and not just worry about them. Feeling the need to address be problems responsibly on your own time. Awareness of yourself needing to deal with your own problems and not expect others to fix them for you.

Negatively, it may reflect too much time spent being concerned about a problem without taking serious steps to address the problem. Worrying about a problem without taking any action.

To dream of students represents aspects of your personality with issues that interest or worry you.  You are concerned about something or experiencing anxiety about something.

The clothes, skin color, actions, or words spoken by a student reflect how you are approaching an issue that concerns or worries you.

To dream of being a student reflects your concern or anxiety about certain issues or situations.  You care about what you are thinking or are worried about something.

To dream of studying represents your concern about doing something about a problem or issue that is important to you. Trying to find solutions or insight. Gaining better understanding about something.

Substitute Teacher

To dream of a substitute teacher represents a temporary or makeshift solution to a problem. Knowing the solution to your problem, but not having the access or resources you need right now to implement it. Noticing what you need to hold yourself over until you can fix your problem the right way.    Not feeling that you need to do what you are told "right now."

Negatively, a substitute teacher may reflect criminal or underhanded ways to avoid accepting a difficult reality or doing what you are told.

To dream of being a substitute teacher represents your feelings about being supportive or helpful to others until something more serious or important comes along. It may also be a sign that you are enjoying being allowed to help others in a small way. Negatively, being a substitute teacher may reflect feelings of being unappreciated or lacking respect for your assistance. Teachers

To dream of a teacher represents the answer or solution to a problem you have. They are beliefs, knowledge, or your projection of a something that holds the perfect solution to a problem. To dream of kissing a teacher may reflect appreciation or approval of good advice. Liking someone that's helped you solve a problem.

To dream of having sex with a teacher may reflect waking life situations where you are having a really enjoyable experience listening to someone else's advice. It could reflect an enjoyable experience solving a problem or making a change you first believed would be horrible.

He felt it was impossible to reverse his bad reputation because people weren't respecting him at all. To dream of a test represents a challenging situation in your life. You may be having an experience that you've never had before, facing competition, or finding yourself in a situation with no guarantees. A situation may require you to demonstrate your abilities. A test could also reflect a fight, an ordeal, or a sense of pressure. A situation that you feel is testing you or placing your self-respect on the line.

To dream of failing a test represents a challenge, fight, or ordeal that you were unprepared for, gave in to, or choose to walk away from. You may not have done everything you could have to solve a problem or confront a challenge. The dream may also reflect your fear of failure.

To dream of textbooks represents all known knowledge or experience about a subject or issue.  Everything you already know about an issue or problem that can be applied to a current life situation.  Learned methods, ideas, or approaches to dealing with problems.

It may also symbolizes access to good advice, past experience that can be applied, or all the answers or resources available to solve a problem or improve yourself.

Alternatively, a textbook may symbolize insight or something that motivates you to solve a problem.

To dream of returning or no longer needing a textbook symbolizes information and experience that no longer applies, or has no value to your current life situation.

To dream of tuition represents regular obligations or responsibilities required to protect your future. Personal costs involved in order to continue developing a long term relationship you are learning from. Personal costs involved in improving yourself or getting important experience.

Negatively, tuition may reflect your feelings about regular responsibilities required of you during worrisome or serious situations.

Tuition in a dream may sometimes reflect feelings about needing to regularly use contraception in a new or developing sexual relationship.

University
