WATER

Water in dreams most often symbolizes our negative unconscious thoughts and emotions, negative situations that bring uncertainty, the unfamiliar, obstacles, or unwanted changes.  Different bodies of water represent different forms of uncertainty in our lives that we must confront.

In a positive sense water can symbolize renewal and regeneration with symbolism such as bathing, or bottled water.

Aquarium

To dream of an aquarium represents awareness of a controlled situation that you are safely isolated from. Feeling good not needing to do anything about an uncertain situation you are paying attention to. Safely having no involvement with something you are observing happening in your life. Fascination with people, situations, things about yourself that you have no interest in seriously involving yourself with. Noticing or being aware of how issues are effecting your life with little interest in exploring them personally. Noticing something happening, but safely thinking it doesn't matter enough to be involved with personally. Indifference, lack of fear, or lack of enthusiasm for something you are aware of happening. Feeling in control of a situation that you're not totally in control of.

Positively, dreaming about an aquarium may reflect your fascination or interest in observing problems you are perfectly safe from. Intelligently keeping yourself separated from something dangerous you are observing. Feelings about the full weight of a controlled situation you are aware of not embarrassing you.

Negatively, an aquarium may reflect a lack of emotional involvement with problems you are noticing yourself or someone else experiencing. It may also represent being aware of how issues are effecting you, but being unwilling to confront them. Watching something dangerous or negative happening without caring about it personally. Feeling that you don't have to do anything about something negative that you are watching happen.

Red or black fish inside an aquarium may point to problems or excesses you are isolated from while not knowing how to address them. Feeling that something isn't dangerous enough to kill you, but it's not going away. Bad habits or negative thinking patterns you are noticing yourself having. A sense of isolation from situations or behavior that is immoral, excessive, scary, or deceptive. Watching something bad, dangerous, or immoral happening and doing nothing to stop because it's more interesting to observe.

Example: A young woman dreamed of seeing an aquarium filled with white fish that were having babies. In waking life she was noticing herself desiring a boy she liked while carefully doing everything to be closer to him without talking to him at all. The aquarium scene in this case may have reflected her awareness of herself creating too many safe situations to be close to her crush while keeping herself carefully isolated from ever taking action to talk to him.

Example 2: A young woman dreamed of seeing a python get placed into an aquarium that was attacking or eating others animals. In waking life she felt indifferent to her friends beginning to not like her as she tried to do well in school while having a part time job. The aquarium with the python snake attacking other animals may have reflected her awareness and indifferent attitude towards her friendships beginning to suffer with her career ambitions being her first priority. She felt friends didn't matter as much as her future and felt uncomfortable watching her career ambitions "strangle" her friendships. She safely watched poor influences die off due to her new habits and didn't care about it. She may also felt that strangling off her friendships was a contained situation without the friends hating her or turning on her.

Example 3: A woman dreamed of seeing a developing baby in an aquarium that was close in term development to a previous baby she had aborted. In waking life she was very sensitive about experiencing or observing herself surpass her previous failed pregnancy term record. The aquarium in this case may have reflected her thoughts about observing her new pregnancy while feeling it was a safe and contained uncertain situation.

Example 4: A man dreamed of looking into an aquarium and seeing a big fish eat a smaller fish. In waking life he was observing his wife move from her initial stage of pregnancy to a much more sensitive serious stage. He felt she couldn't do anything except watch her. A common feeling for men with pregnant wives as they may not like not being unable to take charge of the pregnancy like they would with other problems. To dream of the beach represents a time in your life when you are confronting negativity, or facing uncertainty. It may also represent a transition from a familiar setting to an unfamiliar one.

Example: A man dreamed of standing on a beach facing the water. In real life he was experiencing a heath crisis.

Boat

To dream of a boat represents your ability to cope with negative emotions or deal with negative situations. How you are navigating negativity in your life. Your method of confronting problems or getting through difficult problems safely. Safely avoiding troubling situation.

Negatively, boats in dreams reflect feelings of risk associated with a higher degree of uncertainty or instability in your life. Feeling the potential to be overwhelmed by a problem. Feeling heavily involved with a problem that you can't easily walk away from.

Consider the condition of the waters and how it may mirror your waking life. Is it calm or violent? Clear or murky? Are you experiencing "smooth sailing" in a waking life situation?

Alternatively, a boat may reflect your readiness to confront problems or deal with negative aspects of yourself.

To dream of having missed a boat that was supposed to pick you up represents feelings about having lost an opportunity to safely get through an uncertain or negative situation. Feelings of having missed out on a favor or a chance to be supported with your problems. Missing a chance or missing an important opportunity. Bottled Water

To dream of bottled water represents complete renewal or replenishment. Situations that instill a sense of perfection or flawlessness. Something that makes you feel like nothing is wrong at all. Something in your life that is fixes everything or make everything work perfect. You may be noticing that a problem you had is now completely gone. A situation that instills a renewed stable positive mindset.

Example: A man dreamed of holding some bottled water. In waking life he was having a problem meeting women and a friend told him he knew someone that would be perfect for him. The bottled water represented the opportunity he felt to perfectly fix his problem.

Creek

To dream of a creek represents uncertainty or a negative situation that you are noticing, but don't feel any urgency with. Seeing your problem, but not feeling threatened by it. Issues you can take your time with.


Cruise Ship

To dream of a cruise ship represents a relaxed approach to uncertainty or negative situations. Taking it easy during a troubled time. Feeling confident while you "sail through" a difficult or unpleasant situation easily. Effortless navigation of troubles. "Cruising" through problems as though they didn't matter.

Alternatively, you may be enjoying deep self-reflection or exploring your problems. You may have an interest in what your problems are, but aren't really concerned about fixing them or making serious changes.

Negatively, a cruise ship may reflect overconfidence or a laid back attitude during a dangerous situation. Feeling that someone else will take care of your problems that you can just "sail" to success. Optimism during a crises or difficult time that is absent of critical thinking skills. Feeling confident that problems will solve themselves.

People in problematic relationships often dream of cruise ships because they are aware of the problem, but may be too afraid to confront or break up with their partner. They don't want to stop feeling good in the relationship. Cruise ships may also show up in dreams when you show interest in your dreams or in deep self-reflection about your problems.

Holy Water

To dream of holy water represents thoughts, habits, or life situations that are totally redeeming, perfectly positive, or completely rid you of problems and negative situations. A redeeming action or quality that is unquestionable.

Negatively, holy water may reflect too much faith that something will instantly fix your problems.

To dream of holy water you don't trust represents your suspicions about promises or claims about something being a perfect solution, or that is totally redeeming.

Example: A deeply religious woman dreamed that she wasn't allowed to use holy water to heal herself. In waking life she was dealing with serious family issues with the possibility of her children being taken away from her. She felt that God was ignoring her praying for her problems to go away.

Hose

To dream of ice melting represents the unraveling of problems, or uncertainty in your life. Negative life situations or experiences may be motivating you to fix long standing issues, change beliefs, or face your problems. Finally have to face a problem from your past.

To dream of an icy road may reflect feelings about a progress in your life being "stuck." A common dream for people who are unemployed or who are sensitive about making their lives worse in some way.

Ice often appears in dreams next to body parts when in waking life those body parts are having circulation problems.

In waking life she was single and interested in the possibility of dating a 2 men of whom she had no idea about whether or not they would be interested in dating her. The lagoon in this case may have reflected her feelings of enjoying the uncertainty of potentially dating 2 men in isolated situations instead of feeling the uncertainty of having to find a new man.

Example 2: A teenage girl dreamed of driving in a bus over a bridge that crossed a lagoon. In waking life she felt uncertain about whether or not to date her close male friend. In this case the lagoon may have reflected her feelings about the uncertainty of an isolated situation that allowed her to date a guy that she already knew well without competition.

Example 3: An woman dreamed of trying to swim in a lagoon with branches that bothered her. In waking life she was trying to enjoy herself alone with her boyfriend who was having arguments with her daughter.

Lake

To dream of a lake represents negative situations or uncertainty in your life with solutions you are aware of, but not currently choosing. The land surrounding the lake visible to you reflects answers or safe harbor that you are aware of.

To dream of a lake with trees around it may reflect feelings about difficult solutions to your problems that you do't like because they will leave you feeling confused. Accepting a difficult solution that leaves you feeling confused about the future. Solving your problems with a situation that gives you different problems.

Like any body of water in a dream, the size and condition of the water reflects your emotional state.

Example 2: A man dreamed of flying dangerously in the sky and then landing on the ground beside a lake. In waking life he received a large sum of money that he became enjoying spending to the point of draining his funds very low. He began to think about having to curtail his spending to conserve his financial stability, but didn't like it as he enjoyed how easily spending money made his life feel. The lake in this case may have reflected his feeling about his financial uncertainty having an obvious solution which was to stop spending when he didn't like it.

Example 3: A woman dreamed of walking on a lake with colorful fish in it. In waking life she was very happy and confident that a fertility treatment would help her to get pregnant, but she wasn't bothering to book an appointment to secure the pregnancy. The lake may have reflected her uncertain feelings about the possibility of getting pregnant while knowing that the fertility treatment was a solution to her problem that she was ignoring.

Marina

To dream of a marina represents a mindset that is comfortable or feeling good while facing a number of problems. Facing a lot of uncertainty smoothly or with confidence. Feeling safe enough to deal with a lot of problems whenever you are ready.


Ocean

To dream of an ocean represents powerful uncertainty in your life. Confrontation with negative situations or negative emotions. Your biggest struggles or most baffling challenges. Feeling that problem is too enormous.

To travel across the ocean represents navigating through a phase of your life that's filled with powerful uncertainty or enormous challenges. You are getting through a problematic situation.

To dream of a calm or pleasant ocean view represents stability, and emotional balance. Issues have been confronted or accepted. You are handling yourself well or have taken control of a difficult situation.

To swim or fall into the ocean represents a confrontation or struggle with uncertainty. You are "head deep" in a problem. You may feel overwhelmed by a problem or challenge.

To dream of a pink ocean may reflect feelings about having a serious problem overcoming lust for someone. Sexual attraction that you feel could become a serious problem.

They made up, but she felt that her sexual attraction to her was again too powerful to avoid with the potential to create problems that may restart all the trouble that led to the original restraining order.

Example 6: A woman dreamed of walking on water. In waking life she was experiencing a lot of worry. Walking on the water may have symbolized her feelings of calmly avoiding uncertainty or a surprised sense of how easy it was to notice her problems not embarrassing her yet.

To dream of a paddle boat represents confrontation with an uncertain or negative situation that you perceive as being wonderful. You don't feel a sense of danger or urgency. You may even see potential benefits to taking your time dealing with a problem.

Pregnant women often dream of being in a paddle boat. This may reflect their enjoyment of confronting the challenges of pregnancy.

Example 3: A woman had a nightmare about being out of control while moving down a hill and then crashing into pier. In waking life she was pregnant and fearing problems while going into labor. The pier she crashed into may have reflected her feelings about going into labor forcing her to "crash" into motherhood for the rest of her life.

Pond

To dream of a pond represents uncertainty in your life that you are comfortable with. Confidence in your ability to to try new things. Confidence in your ability to confront a new challenge without embarrassing yourself. Your ability to try something dangerous without angering someone. Alternatively, a pond may reflect how you are keeping a problem contained. Keeping emotions in check.

Negatively, dreaming about a pond reflects feeling about private exploration of dangerous or bad habits. Enjoying yourself doing something bad to someone else without them knowing it. Liking yourself as you are even if other people don't. Feeling that your life is easier to accept yourself as you are instead of making a big change to improve it. Feeling good enjoying something illegal whenever you want.

Example: A man dreamed of swimming the backstroke in a pond. In waking life he was heavily involved in a secretive criminal enterprise that was virtually impossible to get caught with. The pond in this case may have reflected his feelings about enjoying pornography in private whenever he wanted with no consequences knowing full well it was immoral.

Example 3: A woman dreamed of walking across a frozen pond. In waking life she decided to move homes comfortable with the uncertainty of not being able to financially afford it completely. The frozen pond in this case may have reflected her feelings about moving being more financially uncertain than it was physically or technically.

Puddles

To dream of a puddle represents a minor setback, disappointments, or nuisance that you want to avoid. You may be experiencing a situation that slows you down. Issues or problems you want to "walk around." Potential embarrassments are mindful to avoid. Feelings about having a bad day.
