Listening
To dream of listening represents taking time to understand what something is. Paying attention or being considerate. Intelligently noticing what needs to be done. Avoiding being ignorant.
Negatively, listening in a dream may reflect not liking needing to pay attention too much or feeling stupid needing to understand someone that doesn't respect you at all.
To dream of not listening represents feelings of something or someone not paying attention, not thinking something is dangerous, or not understanding what is happening. It may also reflect choosing to not doing what needs to be done. Jealousy of needing to respect something at all. Awareness of yourself or others not being considerate. Snobbiness that doesn't reconsider something. Ignoring, overlooking, or thinking something is unimportant.
To dream of other people not listening to you may reflect problems getting your views across to others.
To dream of yelling and that nobody is listening may represent feeling of urgency that is not being addressed or respected.
To dream of not listening to your father reflect your tendency to not listen to your own conscience or not respecting your own decisions. Alternatively, it may reflect not respecting an authority figure that's controlling you.
Example: A woman dreamed of being yelled at to listen. In waking when she woke up from the dream her son was crying from another room and when she reached him she apologized for taking so long. The son had been crying for a few minutes before she reached him. In this case being yelled at to listen may have reflected her feelings about criticizing herself for not doing a good job raising her child.
Example 2: A man dreamed of someone who was first not listening at all and then after time began listening in a rush. In waking life he was involved in a serious situation not getting the attention it needed and then suddenly it did.
Example 3: A man dreamed of people who weren't listening to anything he was saying. In waking life he was having problems getting his views across to others.
