Positively, dreaming about a pencil may represent the creative process, the ability to brainstorm and come up with ideas easily, or the flexibility to adapt to new situations. The power to make changes or alterations to ideas or plans as needed. Feelings about the initial stages of a project or plan, where ideas are still being developed and refined. Confidence that making mistakes or adjustments not being important.
Negatively, a pencil in a dream may represent indecision, non-commitment, or the fear of making permanent choices. Example: A young woman dreamed of using a pencil sharpener to try to sharpen a pencil for a nun. It didn't work and the nun refused to accept a new pencil. In waking life, she had broken up with her boyfriend while he wanted to get back together.
