Cult
To dream of a cult represents unquestioned devotion to ideas, people, or situations. Unquestioned loyalty to a family member, employer, or superior person.
Negatively, a cult may reflect deluded ideas or points of view that are dangerously never questioned. Giving up your individuality for the sake of someone or something that you feel can't be judged. It may also be a sign that you feel the negative aspects of a person or situation are being ignored due to manipulative tactics. Feeling that alternative ideas or choices are not allowed. Feeling that someone or something is too possessive.
To dream of being a cult leader represents your skill at manipulating others to love your ideas or trust you without question. It may also reflect your strong skills at making people fall in love with you or your ideas. A powerful ability to make others like you no matter what you say or do to them.
Example: A man dreamed of being a part of a "backwards" cult. In waking life he was experiencing frustration at work because he wasn't allowed to explore any new ideas. Devotion to the current corporate mindset was mandatory. When he experienced a problem with current ideas at work we was told to find a way around it instead of using a better idea. Change was unacceptable.
Example 2: A man dreamed of experiencing a cult he wanted to get away from. In waking life he was trying to mediate a fight between his parents and found himself having to lie to each parent while accepting their delusions about their own behavior to maintain civility. The cult symbolism reflected the unquestioned respect and deluded ideas he felt he had to accept in his parents.
Example 3: A young man dreamed of a cult he wanted to escape. In waking life his ex-girlfriend wanted to stay friends after he broke up with her. He felt uncomfortable with his ex-girlfriends ideas about their continued friendship because she was too possessive.
