Blood

To dream of blood represents feelings about life force, vigor, energy, passion, confidence, or vitality that affects your core being and is dangerous to lose too much of. Feelings about the seriousness of consequences, loss of vitality, emotional pain, or injury to some aspect of your life that cannot easily be ignored. Feelings about how healthy or strong some aspect of your life is about deserving to be alive. Blood outside the body is generally symbolic of a loss of strength in some area of your life, while blood inside the body symbolizes strength and energy.

Positively, blood reflects vitality, strength, confidence, and success. You are vigorously confronting problems, getting ahead, or feeling strong.

Negatively, blood may represent feelings about a part of your life that is losing energy, vigor, vitality, confidence, or strength. Losing passion or a sense of deserving to be alive. Either emotional pain, upsets, or situations caused by excessive drives, anger, or reckless behavior. This usually appears in dreams as bleeding, seeing pools of blood, or being covered in blood. Negative remarks that cause others pain. Illness or the painful loss of a relationship. Serious damage to your confidence. Awareness that something serious, personal, or irreversible is happening in your life.

Alternatively, dreams about blood may reflect issues with women's menstrual periods. It's not uncommon for women to dream of messy blood scenarios when they have accidental bleeding. Women may also dream of bloody rivers while having their periods.

Example: A woman dreamed of being annoyed to see blood coming out of a garbage bag with a dead body she had just chopped up. In waking life, she was bothered by having to care about her ex-boyfriend's feelings after having broken up with him. In this case, the blood may have reflected her lingering feelings about the emotional pain, seriousness, and personal consequences involved with hurting her ex-boyfriend's feelings while trying to permanently remove him from her life.

Example 2: A young man dreamed of seeing two sharks fighting, and one of them made the other bleed. In waking life, he manipulated two friends into attacking each other verbally and noticed that one friend got his feelings hurt. In this case, the blood may have reflected his awareness that one friend was emotionally wounded or personally affected more seriously than he originally intended.

Example 3: A woman dreamed of seeing herself bleeding. In waking life, she had just broken up with her boyfriend. In this case, the bleeding may have reflected her feelings of lost confidence and emotional pain of losing her relationship.

Example 4: A woman dreamed of being covered in blood. In waking life, she had cancer and felt that her life was doomed. In this case, being covered in blood may have reflected her feelings about being completely overwhelmed by the seriousness of the news of her condition being impossible to ignore while it was consuming her confidence, hope, and sense of personal strength.

Example 5: A woman dreamed of blood splattered all over a road. In waking life, she was frustrated about losing a friend at work who was originally very nice to her, but then stopped being nice. In this case, the blood splattered on the road may have reflected her feelings about her lingering feelings about the emotional damage, hurt feelings, and loss of confidence caused by the deterioration of the friendship while continuing through the normal routine of her work life.

Example 6: A woman dreamed of seeing a baby with no blood. In waking life, she felt that her plans were dashed because she had no money and no job. In this case, the bloodless baby may have reflected her feelings about her life and plans for the future lacking vitality and not "deserving to be alive" because she lacked money and a job.
