Barbie Dolls

To dream of a Barbie Doll represents feelings about pretending to be perfectly idealized attractive with a problem-free life with everyone liking you. A wish to be noticed perfect all the time so people will like you. Social idealism and conformity. Always wanting to fit in or be what other people want you to be. Feelings about yourself or someone else being exceptionally beautiful or "perfect" in some way. Ideals, superficiality, or societal standards of beauty and femininity. Imagining oneself or one's life according to higher standards or expectations of attractiveness with everyone liking you. Imagining yourself or "toying with the idea" of being attractive enough to date someone and have a perfect life. Personal goals and aspirations related to beauty, fashion, or social status.

Negatively, dreaming of a Barbie Doll may represent struggles with idealism and what other people think of you being attractive, problem-free, and popular that's empty about nothing upsetting it. You may be trying too hard to meet other expectations. An unrealistic ideal you or someone else has. Feelings of inadequacy, superficiality, or pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards or societal expectations. Concerns about self-image, identity, or the fear of not measuring up to idealized notions of beauty or femininity. An ongoing struggle with self-esteem and the perception of beauty, feeling as though she can never quite 'own' or embody the level of attractiveness or social desirability you need. Insecurities about losing weight, body image, or male partners being more attracted to other women. Feelings about being unable to get back at a woman because she is too attractive, problem-free, and popular for anyone to take your side.

Alternatively, Barbie may reflect your feelings about a female who is prettier, richer, and more popular than other people like it's an impossible life. Feelings about other girls' have more "perfect" or "ideal" appearances compared to your own.

Example: A teenage girl dreamed of playing with old Barbie dolls. In waking life, she spent a lot of time thinking about a boy she liked at school. In this case, the Barbie dolls may have reflected her idealized fantasies about romance and relationships, where she imagined herself as perfect and attractive like the Barbie dolls, hoping that the boy she liked would notice her in the same way.

Example 2: A woman had recurring dreams of wanting to buy Barbie dolls, but whenever she got close the purchase didn't work out. In waking life, she liked a guy at work. Before that, she liked a guy she couldn't have. In this case, the recurring dreams of Barbie dolls that are never purchased may have reflected repeated attempts to refrain from playing with the idea of deserving to be pretty enough to attract the men she is interested in.

Example 3: A woman dreamed of seeing her boyfriend making out with a Barbie-like blonde woman. In waking life, she was insecure about her boyfriend liking other girls. In this case, the Barbie-like woman may have reflected the woman's feelings of inadequacy or insecurity about not measuring up to the perceived ideal of beauty represented by the blonde woman, leading to fears of losing her boyfriend's affection.
