Burglar

To dream of a burglar represents feelings about an aspect of your personality that is both dishonest and sneaky while you are not paying attention. Feelings about being taken advantage of, robbed, or deceived because you weren't paying attention to something all the time. Feelings of alarm or shock that an oversight would cause power or stability to be taken from you. Fear of how easily something secure in your life can be taken away if you aren't careful. Feelings of vulnerability to loss or unwanted changes due to not being proactive enough.

Positively, dreaming about a burglar may represent a heightened awareness of potential risks or dangers in your life, prompting you to take proactive measures to protect yourself. Your awareness of threats or negative influences that you are ready to confront and eliminate from your life.

Negatively, a burglar could represent feelings about dishonest or sneaky behavior that may reoccur if you aren't proactive. Awareness of deserving to be robbed of power, status, and resources because you were irresponsible about oversights or failing to pay attention. Guilt or remorse over past actions or decisions that have compromised your integrity or security. Your own dishonest attempt to sneak power or resources away from someone else when they aren't paying attention.

Example: A young man dreamed of seeing a burglar walk into his home at night to rob him. In waking life, he had ignored some serious school work and got a serious "wake-up call" when he got a failing grade that had serious consequences for his final grade. In this case, the burglar may have reflected his feelings about consciously robbing himself of stable academic success by choosing to ignore or not pay enough attention to his schoolwork.

Intruder

To dream of an intruder represents feelings of violation, unwelcome change, or the breach of personal boundaries that makes you feel you have to protect yourself or take action to counter it. A sense of intrusion into your personal space, whether physical, emotional, or psychological. A situation where your safety, security, or sense of control feels compromised requiring you to scramble to keep it. Unresolved issues or conflicts that are intruding upon your peace of mind. A violation of personal boundaries that is creating tension.

Unwanted changes at work or in relationships often bring dreams of intruders. Unwelcome stress in your life.

Example: A man dreamed of an intruder entering his house. In waking life, he was beginning to feel that an extramarital affair he was having was beginning to encroach on his relationship with his wife. He felt that getting caught was becoming a very real dangerous possibility after never believing that it would be. He felt suddenly threatened by the possibility of being caught. In this case, the intruder entering his house may have reflected his feelings about the possibility of getting caught having an affair becoming a real problem that threatened or "intruded upon" the stability and security of his personal life and relationship with his wife.

Example 2: A man dreamed of a man breaking into his house. In waking life, he was practicing abstinence for his religious studies and couldn't resist it anymore. In this case, the intruder reflected his awareness of himself not being as sexually abstinent as he was supposed to be while feeling that he was robbing himself of feeling as spiritually strong as possible by violating his own rules. He may have felt that his sexual desire was inappropriately violating or "intruding" into his sense of normal safety regarding controlling himself when it wasn't supposed to.

Thief

To dream of a thief represents feelings about people or a situation that is obvious about how dishonest it is. Feeling that someone can't be trusted to respect rules. Intentional deception. Intelligent or sophisticated deception. Feelings about others never being trusted to be honest again. Conceited attempts to go behind your back in a dishonest way. Feelings about someone being hopelessly dishonest and impossible to change. Suspicions that someone can't be trusted to repay you. Feeling that you have been dishonestly taken advantage of. Flagrant and consistent disrespect.

A thief may reflect feelings about yourself having been dishonest in a way that is obvious and undeniable. An aspect of your own personality that clearly and intentionally had no respect for rules. Feelings about yourself being unable to deny your dishonesty or change your dishonest behavior. Your ego that will allow dishonest behavior in order to avoid consequences that you don't deserve to avoid. Repeatedly putting your own needs before others with no considerations for the harm it may cause.

Alternatively, you may feel other people have used you or stole your ideas. Feeling that you can't enjoy what you've earned.

Example: A woman dreamed of trying to convinces thieves to give something back that that they had stolen from someone. In waking life she was trying to convince her boyfriend of his wrong doing. The thieves may have reflected her feelings that her boyfriend's dishonest behavior was intentionally and very likely impossible to reverse.

Example 2: A man dreamed of feeling that thieves might be close to him. In waking life he was starting to become suspicious that a friend was never going to repay money that had been borrowed.
