Explosion

To dream of an explosion represents feelings about an experience of a sudden, powerful, and uncontrollable event that disrupts stability, plans, or relationships in an instant. Situations that are sudden with being explosive, dramatic, or intense. Unexpected outbursts, or something escalating quickly beyond your control. A powerful release of suppressed emotions. A sudden realization or dramatic change that ultimately leads to growth, progress. or clears the way for change. Ending something forcefully that needed to be dealt with.

Negatively, an explosion may be a sign that a situation has gotten a lot worse. Financial problems, situations getting out of hand, or experiencing a crisis. A release of tension erupting in an argument. Anger, conflict, or emotional volatility that feels dangerous or overwhelming. Fear of losing control, destructive behavior, or situations that escalate too quickly and cause damage. Perhaps you feel that something in your life is about to �blow up,� or that unresolved tension is building toward a breaking point.

Alternatively, dreams about explosions could represent your fear of a problem worsening or causing you enormous embarrassment.

Example: A young girl had recurring nightmares for over a year about explosions going off. In waking life, she had suffered a very serious seizure. Although she was properly medicated and hadn't had a seizure in over a year she was still fearing another one. In this case, the explosions going off may have reflected her feelings about a sudden, uncontrollable seizure happening again without warning, with the potential to disrupt her life and sense of safety in an overwhelming and frightening way.

Example 2: A woman dreamed of an explosion going off. In waking life, a huge fight had erupted in her home with her family. In this case, the explosion may have reflected her feelings about the argument suddenly escalating out of control.

Example 3: A woman dreamed of a plane exploding. In waking life, she had heard news about the 2008 financial crisis that devastated her confidence in the economy and her future plans. In this case, the plane exploding may have reflected her feelings about the financial crisis destroying her sense of security and direction, making her feel that her long-term plans and expectations were catastrophically disrupted beyond her control.

Example 4: A woman dreamed of seeing buildings exploding. In waking life, her mother had suffered a serious heart attack. In this case, the buildings exploding may have reflected her feelings about the shock news of her mother's heart attack causing her and other family members to feel emotionally shattered, overwhelmed, and suddenly destabilized.

Example 5: A woman dreamed of seeing planes exploding. In waking life, she had gotten into a huge argument with her brother over wedding details which he was managing and didn't know what to do to keep the wedding planning process going without him. In this case, the planes exploding may have reflected her feelings about her plans and expectations for the wedding suddenly falling apart in a dramatic and uncontrollable way.

Example 6: A man dreamed of running away from explosions. In waking life, he was trying desperately to escape serious financial problems that were erupting in his life. In this case, running away from explosions may have reflected his attempt to avoid the consequences of confronting rapidly escalating crises and overwhelming consequences that felt uncontrollable.
