Example 5: A man dreamed of a barbecue with no food. In waking life he was concerned with a custody battle that was stressing him out. In this case the barbecue with no food may have reflected his wish to tell a story to the custody hearing or lawyers about why he should be easily given custody of his children that didn't work out. Feeling good making plans with his children his way that felt good that wasn't easy to make happen.

Barbed Wire

Negatively, dreaming of a Barbie Doll may represent struggles with idealism and what other people think of you being attractive, problem-free, and popular that's empty about nothing upsetting it. You may be trying too hard to meet other expectations. An unrealistic ideal you or someone else has. Example: A teenage girl dreamed of playing with old Barbie dolls. In waking life, she spent a lot of time thinking about a boy she liked at school. In this case, the Barbie dolls may have reflected her idealized fantasies about romance and relationships, where she imagined herself as perfect and attractive like the Barbie dolls, hoping that the boy she liked would notice her in the same way.

Example 2: A woman had recurring dreams of wanting to buy Barbie dolls, but whenever she got close the purchase didn't work out. In waking life, she liked a guy at work. Before that, she liked a guy she couldn't have. In this case, the recurring dreams of Barbie dolls that are never purchased may have reflected repeated attempts to refrain from playing with the idea of deserving to be pretty enough to attract the men she is interested in.

Example 3: A woman dreamed of seeing her boyfriend making out with a Barbie-like blonde woman. In waking life, she was insecure about her boyfriend liking other girls. In this case, the Barbie-like woman may have reflected the woman's feelings of inadequacy or insecurity about not measuring up to the perceived ideal of beauty represented by the blonde woman, leading to fears of losing her boyfriend's affection.

Barcode
